Cuddle Cots: In Memory of Easton Sanford
On November 23rd, 2014, we lost our beloved son, Easton Colt. He spent 11 days in the NICU at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco. He was born with a severe birth defect called Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. After losing him, we have tried to help other parents like ourselves. We have made care packages with another grieving parent, and even started a support group for grieving moms in Bakersfield.
I (Ali - Easton's momma) have had this feeling weighing heavy on my heart that I needed to do something more for similar families coming through UCSF. After doing loads of research, I discovered the Cuddle Cot. This special bassinet with a cooling system allows parents more time with their precious babies. I am speaking for many parents when I say, this is something I wish we had at the time of losing Easton. It would have allowed for more family to see him and for us to have more time with him and more pictures.
Here is is a link to explain in greater detail what a Cuddle Cot is: http://flexmort.com/cuddle-cots/.
Please, help us raise $3,000 to help provide more time for parents to spend with their babies in the NICU. This would mean the world to us and to other families going through this. I can't think of any better way to honor our baby boy, than by helping people just like us.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
