Support the Emergency Ebola Response

Help UCSF Clinicians Support the Emergency Ebola Response

We are in the midst of the worst Ebola outbreak in history. Over the past few weeks, the situation worsened dramatically when the first case of Ebola Virus was identified in Kono District of Sierra Leone--just miles from the clinic where UCSF researchers have provided public health programs and care for patients for several years. Ebola is now in nearly every district of Sierra Leone and much of the public healthcare system is in panic after the tragic death of Sierra Leone's top Ebola physician, Dr. Sheik Umar Khan.

Your support will help us continue to implement our response plan to treat and prevent the spread of ebola among this vulnerable population. Please see our updates section to learn more about what Dan Kelly has done so far in Sierra Leone. This includes:

  *   Operating a nationwide distribution network for emergency medications and supplies from our international partners

  *   Supporting the Ebola isolation and referral center at Kono's Public Hospital

  *    Implementing strict screening and control measures at our facility in Sierra Leone

  *   Coordinating emergency referrals to Ebola treatment centers in Kailahun District

  *   Collaborating with the District Health Management Team to implement effective contact tracing and sensitive community engagement.
