GAIN surpassed $50K!

December 20, 2018

Dear friends of GAIN,

Because of you, we not only reached our year-end goal, but surpassed it! We cannot express our gratitude adequately, not only on behalf of our team here at UCSF, but also on behalf of our Malawian colleagues. Your support will impact over 10,000 births just in the first quarter of 2019 alone.

Breaking news from our evaluation team, in the 3rd quarter of 2018 in Neno district, Malawi, there were ZERO maternal deaths in the units where GAIN nurses work. All GAIN partners are proud to report this, and our vision is to report zero preventable maternal deaths every quarter in 2019. However, there is still work to do: more nurses want to be part of the project, more health ministries are asking for our help, and we are innovating to offer the best and most current training.

Your gifts are especially meaningful given you will never meet the mothers and nurses you are supporting. You are now part of our team and we will make sure everyone at our sites knows how much support is coming from you.

Look for regular updates from us, babies are born every hour at our sites! Meanwhile, we send our deepest thanks and warmest wishes for a peaceful and healthy new year.

Warm regards,

The GAIN project team

You brought GAIN half-way to its fundraising goal!

November 29, 2018

Thanks to you, we are half-way to reaching our $50,000 crowdfunding goal! We continue to raise funds towards the expansion of our midwifery training program in Malawi and Sierra Leone.

We are grateful for this showing of support from our Advisory Council, closest friends, and family. We are also moved by the meaningful gifts we have received from brand new supporters, who learned about the GAIN project and immediately wanted to make a donation to provide safe childbirth to mothers at risk.

Part of the power of Giving Tuesday and collective giving efforts is that you can share with friends and family the causes that are important to you. Please let your friends and family know about your generous action to support GAIN, and inspire them too!

Our sincere thanks,

The GAIN project & UCSF School of Nursing

Thank you Hubbards!

Thank you to Hayley and Tyler for giving love and support to the GAIN project from the beginning. Today, on Giving Tuesday, your friends, family, and fans have been so generous too! We are honored to help expand the base of people who want to see GAIN expand in Malawi and Sierra Leone.
